USA Junior Olympic Volleyball - Delta Region
Officiating duties consist of scorekeeping and refereeing.

All players in age group 14 and above are required to either certify as an R-2 referee or as a scorekeeper  Each player
will be required to:

1.  Attend an annual club clinic.
2. Take and pass a test by achieving the minimum test score or better.
3.  Be rated.

Each team in the Delta Region is required to have at least two certified referees and one certified scorekeeper;
however, to prevent one or two players on each team from becoming overburdened with officiating,
Little Rock
Juniors requires each 15, 16, 17 and 18 year old team to have at least
three certified referees and three
certified scorekeepers for each team.

Attention Parents in age groups 12 - 13: Little Rock Juniors will pay the $57.50 fee to register TWO parents from
each team with Delta Region to become a certified scorekeeper (the fee includes USAV membership and a background
check) . Your team's coach will be responsible for fulfilling the referee requirements in these two age groups.
Officiating Requirements:
Club Rules Pertaining to Officiating:  (Effective 1/12/2007)              

The following guidelines have been approved by the Little Rock Juniors Board of Directors and should be followed
during all games in which Little Rock Juniors teams officiate.  These guidelines are intended to promote Little Rock
Juniors' commitment to quality officiating.

1.  Food shall not be eaten or kept on the scorekeeper's table either prior to or during a match.

2.  Only drinks with screw on lids shall be permitted around the scorekeeper's table.  Drinks should be kept on the floor
- not on the scorekeeper's table.

3.   Only players and/or parents officiating a game (or observing the officiating) and their coach shall be allowed to sit
at the scorekeepers' table.

4.  Players officiating a game shall not talk on cell phones or participate in any other activiity that could distract them
during the time they are officiating.

5.  The assistant scorekeeper shall confirm the sore on the flip cards to the score maintained on the official score
sheet after each point throughout the game.  If a discrepancy exists, the official score sheet shall dictate the score.

6.  Junior line judges and referees shall be dressed in the club's authorized uniform or appropriate warm-up attire.  For
safety reasons line judges are encouraged to wear volleyball shoes or other appropriate tennis shoes.  House shoes
or bare feet shall not be permitted.

7.  During timeouts, line judges shall stand at the center of the baseline on their side of the respective court.  
Peppering or any other activity with the game ball shall not be permitted.

8.  Line judges shall call the ball in or out immediately after the play.  Line judges are not responsible for retrieving the
ball between rallies although assisting a team if the situation allows is permitted.

9.  The coach for the officiating team shall sit at the scorekeeper's table to supervise the officiating unless serving as a
referee.
