Team Parents:
Each team needs a least one parent to volunteer for the position of "Team
Parent". Most of the time, one parent will volunteer; however, sometimes,
more than one parent may share this duty.
The Team Parent is the liaison between the Board and the team. The
Team Parent should make themselves available to the team members and
their parents, as well as the coach, for information and assistance in club
matters.
1. Team Parents will receive a copy of each player's contact information from the Team Parent Coordinator. It
is your responsibility to compile a list of all the contact phone numbers and email addresses for each player,
and their parent, for yourself and the team coach. If there isn't any objection, this list can also be provided to
the entire team.
2. The Team Parent will work closely with the coach. Some coaches will want to communicate directly with their
team members, while others will want the Team Parent to take care of all communications.
3. The Team Parent will coordinate all the details of any "additional" tournaments a team chooses to attend
during the season (i.e., registering for the tournament; securing a hotel; collecting money from players for
tournament expenses such as the tournament registration fee and paying the coaches fee of $100.00 per day
for each day of the tournament, etc.)
4. The Team Parent may need to arrange a ride for the coach if the coach is one of the UALR students.
5. The Team Parent may keep the teams web page up to date by providing information and pictures to the
webmaster (i.e., tournament standings, special awards, photos, etc.)
6. The Team Parent is responsible for overseeing that team members complete the necessary certification
required to meet officiating guidelines.
7. The Team Parent oversees collecting money/items for events and securing the end of the year coach's gift
from the team.
8. The Team Parent will serve as a Court Monitor at our annual Volley in the Rock tournament.
9. The Team Parent attends (or arranges for another parent to attend) tournament meetings.
10. The Team Parent represents Little Rock Juniors and is expected to set a good example for our club and to
comply with the Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct applies to all parents, coaches, and players. If there
are behavior problems with parents that are not easily resolved, the Team Parent should contact the Team
Parent Coordinator.
